Error Messages & Solutions"The validity period of this certificate exceeds that of its certification authority."Why is this happening?This message tells you that while our certificate is valid, your browser is using an older version of VeriSign's certificate. VeriSign is the "certification authority," or the folks who issue the certificate to us. According to VeriSign, this does not compromise the security of your connection to StageDirect. How can I fix it?There are two possible solutions. 1. When you see the message again, you can click "yes" to accept the certificate. Your connection to us will be secure. 2. To solve this problem permanently, you need to install a minor update directly from Microsoft. It's called the "Root Certificates Update," and it's available at Microsoft Windows Update. You don't even need to reboot!
"The site's security certificate has expired"or"Unable to establish a secure connection"or"The identity certificate issuer is unknown"Why is this happening?These error messages all mean basically the same thing, and can be solved the same way. Some versions of Netscape, and some versions of Internet Explorer for the Macintosh, were created with an expired security component. Our certificate was issued by Verisign, the world's largest issuer of security certificates. You can read what they say about this issue. How can I fix it?There are two possible solutions: 1. Most browsers offer you a way to accept our certificate temporarily. You may see an option to "Continue" or to "Accept" or just say "Yes." According to VeriSign this does not compromise the security of your connection to StageDirect. 2. Or, you can install VeriSign's updated certificate manually.
